I have been using Mercury for my home insurance and auto insurance over 13 years. Everything was okay, but Mercury rejected me to add a Lambo to my auto policy without any written reason. This is not the first time for me to add the exotic car to my policy, I had Ferrari and 911 GT3RS under the same policy before. I even asked them to quote me liability ONLY for my Lambo since it’s not under financing, but they still rejected.
Fine, i am going to take my business to somewhere else.
I am not one who likes to write complaints but given what has happened with this company, I am unfortunately compelled to do so. I gave Mercury a 1-star rating - but if could give below a zero I would. This company is without a doubt the absolute worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. I switched to State Farm back in December 2023 and Mercury subsequently reported a lapse in my car registrations to NY State DMV and causing me considerable grief. I have solid proof of payment and can prove coverage, but DMV can do nothing until Mercury clears it up, which they are declining to do, which blows my mind. And I am shocked at the attitudes of their staff and the content of correspondence. This is forcing me to pursue recourse, something I do not have time for but am compelled to unfortunately do. Their responses to correspondence and being prevailed upon to clear this up have been nothing short of outrageous. My advice - do business with any other insurance company. Mercury customer service is atrocious, the worst I have ever seen. And now they refuse to clear up an issue that mind you, I have letters and banking information that clearly substantiates my proof of coverage. They won't take responsibility and should be embarrassed by their conduct in this matter. That is not the conduct of a company that deserves anyone's business. My advice - if you considering them or have coverage with them now, get another insurer. The mantra of customer service and doing what is right does not exist with these people. Again, they don't even deserve 1-star as a rating.
Too many problems dealing with mercury, whenever i file a car insurance claim with them they always make me drive really far away to see their insurance investigator anna belk because mercury suspects fraud and she wants to see my car in person even after i already had it inspected at honda world in westminster.
I had to speak to her supervisor multiple times because she makes it difficult and inconvenient to file a new claim they think I’m committing insurance fraud or something but its not my fault people keep vandalizing or crashing into my car when its parked in public places.
Their prices on car insurance is cheaper than other companies for a reason so please stay away from mercury its not worth the hassle when trying to file a new claim with them.

Mercury Insurance does not even deserve 1 star, but it's the least I can give. Very dishonest company. Do not waste your money with them. They will not honor any coverage. Horrible customer service.
Homeowners Policy is a complete Rip Off! I had a claim for home A/c repair and I was told to get a couple of estimates. Both licensed contractors recommended a replacement. That was not good enough for the greedy adjuster. Mercury sent one of their own guys to tell me it was low on free-on. Claim denied. I replaced the unit on my own dime. So much for Insurance.
The security guard was amazing. Mercury has denied our water damage claim after a year. They won't give us our supply line so we can prove our innocence. They stopped our airbnb and our home has not been fixed yet. I got cancer when this flood happened. They don't care that our kids and I will be homeless...once again they left us homeless twice. The attorney has neglected our pleas to give us our property back. They don't care about us. 1st claim in 18 years of owning our home. They broke policy and what's their repercussions??????? Nothing. They can leave us homeless and I'm sick. This has made me sick I truly believe it. Non of thst matters...that the contents of our home was packed up and put into storage. After my 2nd surgery...which was a horrific trama..the storage facility had a fire and we lost everything. 30 units burned down. Does anyone e care ?? Nope. Our kids are crushed and so are we.
Horrible customer service. They're paid by the Left-wing nut socialist commie party to collect every tidbit of your personal life while preparing your auto insurance plan. Lawsuit City will be their new name very soon. They be singing it, too. 😠 😡

The guy at the drive thru was very Courteous but $15 dollars for a Chilli dog combo? Come on the cheapest meat you can buy and they so over charge. Won't be back

Mercury Insurance is not the company they once were. This last incident is the one that sent me to add this negative review. First incident I was lied to by the insurance broker about coverage. When needing the coverage they would not cover. Second incident had to do with a parking lot accident in which both the the driver of the other vehicle and my account are the same, and the Mercury states a different account so they can charge me the whole amount. I was even told the other driver does not want to accept any responsibility so it is on me. What, because his car is more expensive and he pays a higher premium? They do not represent you! They will change the facts to help them make more money. This way they can charge a higher premium. I am going to take this to the California Insurance Commissioner and let Mercury explain why their account is different then the account of both drivers involved. My advice, stay away from using Mercury Insurance!

I have never been more frustrated, dehumanized, and depressed when dealing with a company. By far the worst experience with a company in my life, hand to God. I was in an accident over 2 years ago that broke my neck and they are still dragging this out. This has caused extreme pain everyday, migraines 3-4 days out of the week that are so bad I can't eat sleep or take my medicine. Strained my marriage to the breaking point. I could go on and on. They don't care at all about helping me get better, why have an insurance company if you're just going to take peoples money and not pay up when it's time. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST. These guys are far from being an insurance company.

I called them so many times to get a quote, they all route to automated machines. Extremely hard get to a live person to even help you with anything. I can't imagine what the claim process will be like if getting a quote is already like this.
